HOW YOUR CONTACT LIST CAN WORK FLAWLESSLY FOR YOU!

As your business grows so does your contact list. You probably have phone numbers scribbled on sticky notes and names written down on napkins. All those scraps of paper can be a real mess. Relax. Here are six tips to help you take control and get organized quickly!
  1. Update. Sort. Then Prioritize.
First, gather all items that contain contact numbers and addresses. Then separate business cards, documents and scraps of papers into different piles. What you need to do is to get all this information into a software program so it's easier to update, sort and prioritize.

  2. Choose the right contact management program for you
If you use Microsoft Office, then Outlook is a powerful program that lets you integrate your contact information with your calendar and task lists. Other options include competing contact management programs such as ACT!, Goldmine or TeleMagic.

  3. Print your contact labels with the DYMO® LabelWriter®
For a hassle-free way to print mailing labels from all the management programs listed above, we strongly suggest the DYMO LabelWriter ( ESS-68015, ESS-68020, ESS-68010). PC and Mac compatible, this label printer gives you twice the resolution and twice the speed of other models. DYMO also ensures sharper fonts, clearer logos, photos, and crisper barcodes every time on over 40 different label sizes.

  4. Use your LabelWriter to check addresses and print postage
Another great benefit of the LabelWriter is the free Address Fixer software. It lets you confirm any address directly via the US Postal Service electronic database. But the real time-saver here is the fact that the LabelWriter can print your postage right from the Internet (Internet postage labels ESS-30383, ESS-30384). Just download the software from Stamps.com or Endicia.com.

  5. Tackle your stack of business cards with Corex CardScan®
If you're like most of us, you probably have a stack of business cards big enough to choke a horse. Not a problem. Scan that pile into your computer with Corex CardScan. It reads, sorts and places the information into an electronic address book automatically. The QuickSearch feature lets you find what you are looking for in seconds. CardScan syncs with Palm, Outlook, Pocket PCs and the LabelWriter integrates directly with CardScan software.

  6. Save valuable time with AddressGrabber
If you have contact details stored across a host of documents on your PC, check out AddressGrabber. All you have to do is highlight the information you want to transfer, click on your contact management system icon and AddressGrabber does the rest. In fact, this time saving software supports over 20 management system programs including Palm.
With these six tips you should be able to update your contact lists and stay in-touch easier than you ever thought possible!
